Called this afternoon for Biden-Harris. What a week. As I expected, it will be difficult to fathom what I was expecting just 4 days ago. Since then, so little sleep, fanatic refreshing of Five-Thirty-Eight’s blog and NYTimes vote counts. and 270toWin.com Endless factoring possibilities. It looked like it would come down to AZ and NV to get there, but AZ was looking worrisome with late-coming mail-ins from conservatives. Kids seem interested every night when we watched Rachel Maddow and Steve Karnacki feverishly counting delivered ballots and drawing conclusions. Trump, true to form, “claimed” states in which we was victorious, when he clearly was not. The legitimacy of his presidency began to calve like a glacier starting late in the day Nov. 4. Suddenly he seemed puny. Giuliani’s obscene press conferences, the frivolous lawsuits thrown out by all the courts. Finally the comeuppance came. And it SO nearly didn’t, in which case I don’t think we could have every clawed back our democracy. No doubt the most significant moment in my lifetime, or the lifetime of this country since I’ve been alive.

Biden delivered a helluva speech, best I’ve ever seen, and the vibe from Kamala’s speech was fantastic. The power of her historic precedent was just radiant. Things are looking good. Staying up late to watch SNL (live) for the second time in maybe 20 years..
